Materials and Time

Costs for building work can often seem contrived and unfair. We believe in transparency and openness, so follow a simple philosophy; materials and time.

Materials

The cost of all materials are passed on at the price we pay for them, along with the receipts. This includes:

  • Cabinetry

  • Timber and flooring

  • Fixtures, fittings and adhesives

  • Partners (we don’t add any margin to their quotes )

Our quotes include the expected costs for materials, with any savings passed directly onto you.

We didn’t make the cabinets, so we don’t add any margin onto the costs we pay before billing you. That means larger savings than you’d expect, with those kitchen cabinets suddenly looking far more reasonable.

Time

Time refers to the amount of hours we spend on a project, which is affected by a range of factors including:

  • Project duration

  • Number of staff needed

  • Type of work needed

If projects overrun, then the costs are fixed and will not escalate without written agreement. Equally if we finish the project early, then we won’t bill for time that we haven’t used.

This keeps you in control of the costs.

Sadly, it’s tricky to get a clear answer for the question of how much is the work going to cost. If you get in touch we’d be happy to arrange a time for a call or a visit to help get as accurate as we can. Even if you’re still in the planning and budgeting phase we’re happy to help.

Our partners

We work with a range of specialists that we recommend. In fact, we only work with people that have worked on our own houses so we can be sure of their quality
